Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) conducts RAS/RTS combined competitive exam. The headquarter of RPSC is located in Ajmer, Rajasthan. RPSC conducts RAS/RTS combined competitive Exam in three steps:

  1. Preliminary Exam
  2. Mains Exams and
  3. Interview

Scheme for Prelims Exam of RAS

Rajasthan Public Service Commission conducts Prelims exam for RAS/RTS. This exam consists of only one paper of General Knowledge and General Science. The total weightage of this paper is 200 marks and consists of 150 questions. The questions are of multiple choice (Objective type). There will be one-third negative marking for each wrong answer. The examination is meant to serve as a screening test only. The Standard of the paper will be that of a Bachelor’s Degree Level. The marks of Prelims exam are not included in final result.

Syllabus of RAS/RTS Prelims Exam

The Preliminary exam Syllabus of RAS/RTS combined competitive exam consists of multi-dimensional general knowledge topics. The Prelims Syllabus includes following topics of General Knowledge and General Science-

  1. History, Art, Culture, Literature, Tradition and Heritage of Rajasthan
  2. Indian History : Ancient & Medieval Period and Modern Period (from early 19th century to 1964)
  3. Geography of World and India
  4. Geography of Rajasthan
  5. Indian Constitution, Political System and Governance
  6. Political and Administrative System of Rajasthan
  7. Economic Concepts and Indian Economy
  8. Economy of Rajasthan
  9. Science and Technology
  10. Reasoning & Mental Ability

RAS/RTS Mains Exam Pattern

The number of candidates to be admitted to the Main Examination will be 15 times the total approximate number of vacancies. The written examination will consist of four papers. The papers will be descriptive/analytical. A candidate must take all the four papers. The question papers will also consist of brief, medium, long answer and descriptive type questions. The standard of General Hindi and General English will be that of Sr. Secondary level. The time allowed for each paper shall be 3 hours.
